The SC4 Amateur Radio Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with the primary objective of promoting the advancement of general knowledge and welfare of amateur radio and emergency communications in the community. The club conducts classes, educational programs and radio practice activities in all aspects of amateur radio communication.
The SC4 Amateur Radio Club also sponsors SC4ARES, which provides emergency communication services during disasters for the South Coast of San Mateo County, California.
Membership is open to anyone interested in amateur radio. We encourage prospective members to join us at a monthly club meeting or other field event. Having a license is not required. If you’d like help obtaining your Technician’s class license, we have classes and resources to help.
Our club focuses on having fun while learning Amateur Radio skills. We also work closely with ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Services) and La Honda Fire Brigade who activates us as communicators in the event of an emergency or disaster. No experience is necessary to join, and we'll help you get your license and learn how to Get On The Air!
