  • Irma, KM6JVU replied to the topic Repeater out in the forum Group logo of GeneralGeneral 1 year ago

Linda/Angelo please correct me if I’m misunderstanding this: Based on the last version of the SC4ARES Field Reference Guide, if the repeater for CMD31 is not operational, the 440 (CMD32) then becomes the backup. If an operator is outside of the CMD32 coverage area, then they should use the CMD31 in simplex mode.

My understanding has always been…[Read more]

  • Jeneen, are you taking the beginner class again or moving on to the intermediate?

Eva, there are apps to listen and learn on your phone, but to actually learn keying you need a couple pieces of equipment (paddle and electronic meter).

Hmm… sounds like this could be an interesting Tech Training for a club meeting!

  • I would definitely appreciate the encouragement to practice. 20-30 minutes on a weekend morning would be great for me. I don’t think I can commit a full hour.

  • Woot woot!! Happy Birthday Angelo!

  • Sorry about that, Neil. I fixed the permissions. Please try it again.

  • Apologies for being behind on planning — have been a little preoccupied with winter storm prep (haven’t we all).

If you are still planning to participate in Winter Field Day this weekend, please complete this short survey:

If you are INTERESTED in learning more about Field Day or how to do contesting…[Read more]

  • I am available. Will be at High School at 9:00 am. Note I am near enough high school that I can provide coffee, tea etc if needed.

  • Per this weekend’s club meeting, I’ve volunteered to be IC for this event. I’m going through the excellent documentation from prior events provided by DOV and QAD, so stay tuned and I’ll have a plan out by Wednesday, if not earlier.

If there are any new hams who aren’t sure what a Field Day is but might be interested in “shadowing”, let me know.…[Read more]

  • Thanks, Eva. I would love to borrow your text and I promise to take good care of it. I’ll follow up via email so we can arrange a time for me to pick it up.

  • The year-end report for the Website Committee is now available in the library, here.

We have made a lot of progress in a very short amount of time and look forward to rolling out improvements in 2021.

  • Thanks for passing on this info, Neil.

Would anyone happen to have a copy of Gordon West’s 2019-2023 General Class text that you are no longer using? I have the old ARRL version, of course, but this class is based on the newer question pool.
