In anticipation of PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoff starting Wednesday, I’ve turned on the “Local User” option on our Winlink station.

    • Effective immediately, anyone who accesses the message server W6SCF-10 will be added to a list of local users for 72 hours following their last login to W6SCF-10.
    • Incoming messages for local users will be pulled from the CMS when network connectivity is available and stored locally for pickup. If we lose network connectivity you can still retrieve messages through W6SCF-10 sent to you before the black-out.
    • Messages sent between local users will be stored locally. The W6SCF-10 server will act as a local post office during black-outs.

Note that if you are registered as a local user on W6SCF-10, all of your incoming messages will be available only through the W6SCF-10 server for the duration of the PSPS and 72 hours after your last check in.

Local User mode has been turned off.
