Our next general meeting will be this coming Saturday, April 16, at 10:00 a.m. It will be held at the La Honda Fire House; however, we will be in the bay area instead of the meeting room, so you might want to bring a sweater or jacket.

Topics for the meeting will be:
    – Report from Silver Dragon
    – Committee Reports
    – Upcoming Field Day planning

Our technical will be a discussion by Fire personnel, Chief Delay or Asst. Chief Paul Long, on the Incident Command System (ICS). ICS is a flexible structure designed to accommodate incidents large or small, and keep any one person from being overwhelmed with responsibility. Good preparation would be to take or review the FEMA course IS-100b, “Introduction to Incident Command System”. Ari and Paul’s practical insight into its use will be invaluable as we learn how to assist in an emergency.

    See you all on Saturday.

    Neil, W6VG

Thanks to everyone who participated in the meeting this Saturday. Special thanks to Paul Long for his excellent talk on the Incident Command System. He made everything very clear, and it was a thought provoking and educational session. The link he mentioned for downloading ICS forms is below. These are “fillable” forms, which means you can enter data from your computer and make them look really nice! At our exercises, I usually take notes by hand, then clean them up and transfer to the fillable form for a final report.

    The forms are here:

Good web site! The flmsg component of the fldigi suite also supports a number of ICS forms. You can fill these out in flmsg, and then export to html and print them. You don’t have to use the rest of the fl-suite to use this feature.
