Since a few people asked for it, I have uploaded a copy of our Field Day promo poster to the library. These are meant to be printed on 11×17 paper, so they might be scaled funny on smaller paper, but perfectly usable.

Our site is also listed in the ARRL Field Day locator at

    Lisa, W6LSC

I have posted these posters in Pescadero (3), Loma Mar post office, San Gregorio Store, La Honda
Store (I’m bringing another one to the post office and Puente today), Alice’s gas station, the bulletin board at Bish’s, and the bulletin boards at Robert’s in PV, and Bianchini’s in Ladera. I also posted one at the bulletin board in Las Cumbres, by the main mailbox farm. I didn’t have tape on me, but I will today, so I can put one up at the Portola Heights mail room.

Can someone script a PSA spot for KPDO?

    Awesome PR blitz !

    Jeneen, W6NCS

As far as I know, I’m the only local show on KPDO at this point. Shows are being made ahead of time and sent in on thumb drives. I can probably get a PSA in on the 19th…next week’s show is already sent in. Catherine-Is anyone else doing a show between now and the 23rd?

Is there an overview document of the plans for field day; I would like to get an idea about such things as “am I offering to bring food for 3 meals or one?” and “what time would breakfast be on Sunday?” or “is camping allowed?” and even “there must be a schedule” and the ever popular “are closed heat sources allowed?”

if it’s in one of the meeting minutes files just point me there.

I don’t recall seeing any dogs last year. Are they discouraged/banned by the use permit?

No dogs on Skyline Ridge Preserve. That’s a general rule, not specific to our permit.

We will get more Field Day details posted next week.

I have uploaded the communications plan for Field Day to the library.

Everyone should scan this to make sure these frequencies are programmed into your radio. They are all standard channels, but it never hurts to double check.

Important point – there is pretty much no cell phone coverage at this site.

    David, KM6DOV

Mike, this file is unreadable in Chrome browser, Safari browser, Mac Preview, and Adobe Reader. Can you please check on your side and upload a readable version if needed?

Thanks – I’ll double check it, since I’m also having problems with the downloaded version.

I updated the file, same link.

ICS goodies for reference – our incident objectives and organization assignments

These will be available at the Field Day site.

We got our weather forecast…It will be much warmer than it has been, so be prepared and drink plenty of water!

The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM PDT Saturday.

    * LOCATIONS… Most of the inland Greater San Francisco Bay Area
(excluding coastal areas and the San Francisco peninsula
itself), inland Monterey county, and inland San Benito county.
For the San Francisco Bay Shoreline… main heat risk is
primarily from Redwood City to Cupertino.

    * TEMPERATURES… Temperatures will generally be 15 to 20 degrees
above normal on Saturday. Widespread temperatures in the mid 90s
to low 100s in the impacted areas are expected. The hottest
inland locations such as Pinnacles National Park and the extreme
inland Napa, Sonoma, and possibly Contra Costa counties may
surpass 105 degrees. The urban areas of San Francisco and
Oakland are excluded from this heat advisory, however, but are
still forecast to hover in the mid to upper 80s range on
Saturday while San Jose will hover in the mid to upper 90s. For
the San Francisco Bay Shoreline, the main heat risks are
generally from Redwood City to Cupertino where triple digit
temperatures are forecast, while other areas of the shoreline
    will be noticeably cooler.

    * IMPACTS… Moderate to high risk of heat related illness
especially for vulnerable populations during the day Saturday.
Increased number of visitors to coastal communities and beaches
to escape heat, leading to increased necessity of water
rescues. Exacerbation of severe fire weather conditions,
especially in the North and East Bay hills and mountains.

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. Hot temperatures will create a situation in which heat
illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids…stay in an air-
conditioned room…stay out of the sun…and check up on
    relatives and neighbors.
