Just updating this thread with more current info. If you are still experiencing “random” power outages or have other concerns, you can email PG&E’s new customer service account: wildfiresafety@pge.com

PG&E held a Wildfire Safety Webinar on October 5 for San Mateo County residents. Several outcomes from the recent spate of unplanned outages due to their Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings include:
* PG&E heard very clearly from our elected representatives (Sup. Horsley, Assy. Berman, Rep Eshoo and others) that these outages and the lack of communication about causes, restoration times, etc were completely unacceptable
* PG&E has established a dedicated email: wildfiresafety@pge.com to respond to questions and concerns, with a promised response within 48-hours (Note: Assemblymember Berman stated on 10/6 that 48 hours is still not acceptable and he will push for PG&E to improve that response time)
* PG&E has changed procedures to reduce the average outage time to less than 4 hours and 200-300 customers impacted (versus 9+ hours and 1400 customers)
* PG&E is piloting a new mobile app Report It, to allow people to upload photos of potentially dangerous conditions (i.e., tree limbs overhanging lines, etc) before an outage occurs. The app is currently available by invitation only; join the waitlist at pge.com/reportit to get your invite (I got access in a couple of days).
