Jerry N6QZH is bringing a Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette. Layers of crisp greens, sweet strawberries, tangy goat cheese crumbles, crunchy praline pecans, fresh basil, topped off with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday!

That’s great Eva. Be sure to wear your vest and make sure they know you represent SC4ARES. Because some of us have a conflict the evening of May 22, they have adjusted the end time from 5 to 3.
ARES Leadership, please try to make an appearance at this event. I guarantee you will learn something and you will have fun!
Thanks. Pat

ARES and CERT has been invited to participate in the San Mateo County Large Animal Evac’s Animal Handling Training. This is a great opportunity to learn how to work with large animals and other farm animals (like pigs and chickens) during an emergency. And, it’s a LOT OF FUN!
See the flyer in the library at…[Read more]

As you are probably all aware, the La Honda Fair is on this year: June 4 – 5.
Typically, SC4ARC has an information booth set up in the parking lot. We have a tent, a radio, an antenna and lots of information for folks who stop by to learn about ham radio.
But, this requires volunteers to staff the booth. We still have lots of opportunities…[Read more]

Casey, I’ve only had the Sinvitrons since last September so can’t really gauge their battery shelf life. So far they’ve been excellent with very moderate use and only cost $25. The handle has a hook for hanging, they’re lightweight and make it easy to keep light with you moving about the house or property.

I do have a question – how well does the charge last ‘on the shelf?’
